Welcome to the Liguori Family site:
Site Updated 5/1/04 Click Here to see what has changed since you last visited and a list of the new features planned for this site
Thanks for stopping by! We (Paula & Tom) hope you find this site interesting and informative. Our site features the descendents of Paul Liguori & Concetta Mazza who immigrated to New York, USA in the early 1900s. Paul Liguori(09/02/1873 to 1942), son of Thomas & Madeline Liguori and Concetta Mazza(09/14/1881 to 1951), daughter of Nicholas & Sarah Mazza were wed sometime around 1896. They had their first child, Gaetano(Thomas) in 1897 and 4 other children before Paul came to the US in 1905. Concetta joined him about 9 months later. Paul & Concetta had 10 children; Thomas, Joseph, Nicholas, Mary, Cono, Anthony, Rocco, Jenny, Carmella and Cono. It appears that thier 5th child Cono died shortly after arriving in the US.
We created this site to accumulate information about Liguori history. At inception we knew next to nothing. Most of what we've been able to piece together has come from (Uncle) John Liguori. He provided the family tree that is the basis for this site's family tree. We hope that this site will become a central repository for family photos, traditions and family tree information. It will also list upcoming family events and get togethers as well as significant dates (Anniversaries, Birthdays, Weddings, etc) There is also a secure master contact list so everyone can stay in touch, as well as a cookbook section where family members can contribute their favorite family recipes or ask for the recipe of an old family favorite. The more everyone contributes, the better this site will be.
Family Events
There will always be a listing of upcoming significant events (get togethers, 25/50/75 year anniversaries, significant birthdays(65+), Weddings, etc). Submissions can be sent to the contact email and will be posted as soon as time allows. You will always be able to find information on the next Family picnic or winter brunch as these items are recurring.
Master Contact List.
I have created a database application that will allow everyone in the Liguori Family to enter their contact info. All of this information is available to family members and changes can be updated online. Access to this list will be secure and only available by password (which will be provided to anyone who has submitted this information).
Family Tree and Picture Archive
Thanks to John & Jane Liguori for giving us an almost complete family tree and everyone who has written with updates. When reviewing the family tree please forward any corrections or updates to the contact email address (liguorifamily@optonline.net). We have added some great Liguori pictures from our family's early days in the US and encourage anyone who has others to send them to us. Pictures from the 1950's and prior would be greatly appreciated! Thanks goes out to Anna Licciardo, James & Theresa D'Elia and Carole A. Scagnelli (Schindler) for providing the pictures we have so far. If you have pictures or negatives I would be happy to scan them and return the originals to you. It would be very helpful if you can identify the people in pictures submitted.
Liguori family Recipes
We have received many great Liguori Family recipes so far including my favorite for 7 layer cookies(Although i only count 6 layers and i thought they were called tri-color cookies?). We hope to add many more recipes that were handed down from family member to family member. Maybe we can add a little variety with other family favorites or how about featuring some of the recipes for those delicious dishes that were served at the picnic! This is a chance to share the old recipes that may have not been passed down to everyone and in turn hopefully gain access to recipes you thought were lost. I remember zepoles my mother (Dolores) made from grandma Rose's recipe. The recipe included potatoes and the zepoles were light and airy, yet stood crisp for more than a day. I would love to have this recipe This section will be for requests like this and recipe sharing.
